| yes, i'm breaking my silence....because tomorrow is my last day of high
school. i have no clue how to feel about this whole thing. on the one
hand, i've come to the end of a lot of hard work, and i succeeded.
also, there are some aspects of school that i'm not gonna miss at all
(scinta, goergen, etc.). on the flip side, i've got so much i'm gonna
be leaving behind. stuff that has comforted me for four years, and
people i've come to trust, respect and care for. oh man, enough of the
sappiness, it's making me think...

| i just noticed that sandra posted about this, which reminded me that i should...
DAY OF SILENCE is this wednesday, to protest the silencing of GLBT
(gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered) students. it's a really
worthwhile demonstration, to remind everyone that there's a greater
impact than you realize if you call something "so gay," or wonder out
loud in the hall if someone's a "fag." all you do is stay silent
as best you can throughout the school day. you carry these "speaking
cards" so that if people ask, you can let them know what's going on
without talking. we're also making t-shirts on our own, which i can
explain to anyone who wants to do it. i hope plenty of people will be
willing to participate. you can get more details from me, sandra s.,
anna s. or www.dayofsilence.org (where you can also print out the
speaking cards we'll be using).

| my first ever on-campus update, yeah! well, i'm just an accepted freshman invader, but nevertheless it's pretty cool to be here. oh, by the way, i'm at seton hall in south orange, nj. kind of an important detail....anyways. it's quite late/early for me as a senior to be awake, yet here i am typing away on my roommate's computer. i've had an interesting several days....
friday was boring, not worth mentioning. long story short, i didn't speak to anyone outside my family till after 9pm. saturday i chilled in the city, sans my dear friend lindsay who could not make it. my parents and i went to st. marks to eat, and midtown/village to shop. today was freshman preview here at seton, which was pretty cool. the academic stuff was alright, but the dorm part was much better. i'm rooming with 2 republicans, which has made things interesting. apparently, however, they're almost the only ones on campus.
i don't feel like typing anymore, although there are plenty of other things i might type. lazy happens, especially in the diplomacy wing at the seton hall dorms. hell yeah. g'night | | |
